Prof. Bhagavan S. K.
Prof. S.K. Bhagavan is a distinguished expert in education and corporate training with over 50 years of diverse experience. With a foundation in Electrical Engineering, he began his career as an engineer at Bharat Earth Movers Ltd., transitioning to academia, where he spent 20 years at prominent institutions like RV College of Engineering and PES Institute of Technology. As Head of the Electronics and Communication Department, he also led the Placement and Training department, creating innovative pre-placement programs to enhance students’ employability.
Prof. Bhagavan’s shift to the corporate world in 2000 led him to Wipro Technologies, where he played a key role in designing and implementing several groundbreaking educational initiatives. These include the Wipro Academy of Software Excellence (WASE), a unique program producing in-house engineers for Wipro, and i2 CONNECT, which strengthened collaboration between engineering colleges and the industry. He also launched a Blended Learning model for professionals and developed the Mini MBA program for time-constrained software professionals.
In his role as Director of Learning & Development at Rajkot, Gujarat, Bhagavan focused on Faculty Development and Leadership Training programs. He has also been an Advisor with Talent Transformation at Wipro, where he streamlined educational initiatives for working professionals.
A recognized authority in Cross-Cultural Management, Prof. Bhagavan has designed and delivered numerous training programs for Wipro’s global clients, and he holds international certification in this area. He has conducted over 100 workshops on leadership, academic excellence, and faculty development as part of Mission 10X, Wipro’s program for empowering engineering educators.
He has also led language initiatives for Wipro, facilitating the learning of foreign languages and improving the language proficiency of its global workforce. Prof. Bhagavan’s passion for teaching and learning extends to his work as an invited faculty member at IIM Bangalore and BITS Pilani.
An active contributor to personality development and career guidance, Bhagavan regularly interacts with engineering colleges and serves on advisory boards of several institutions. His legacy in education and training is marked by his ability to bridge academia and industry, nurturing well-rounded professionals ready to lead.
